Workforce Planning Improves Health & Care

The difficulty in matching enough of the right staff to the growing health and care needs of communities is an existential threat for many services across the globe.

Your people are the single most important part of delivering excellent health & care and we need to find more staff, keep and develop the ones that we've got, and transform the way we deliver care. All of this is workforce planning.

If you lead or support a team, then a big part of your job is workforce planning. The AHCWP exists to help you understand it, develop your skills in it and significantly improve it for the benefit of your people and service users.

Building a Supportive Network

We are a community of people who want to improve workforce planning in health and care - making sure that we have the right people in the right place to meet the needs of our populations.

As a member of the AHCWP, you will be able to find training on all aspects of workforce planning, self-assess your training needs, access how-to guides, network with others, find and share good practice - and have a place to simply ask questions (and get them answered). We're here for all involved in workforce planning globally with members from across the globe including the UK, North America and the Middle East

The AHCWP is for anyone working in any aspect of workforce planning in any part of the health and care sector - paid or unpaid, health or care, private or public sector and whether your job says “workforce planning” in it or not

New Release

We have started to add detailed “How to guides” for typical workforce planning tasks, and a searchable set of resources to aid your workforce planning - including training, case studies, good practice and examples.

Upcoming Events

We will host webinars and training events and will continue to expand a set of workforce planning resources including examples, models, and important documents. We have launched a Linked In page with links to members’ forum for workforce planning discussions.
